A specialist, creative and industry-led university located at the heart of London's newest creative community on the Greenwich Peninsula, Ravensbourne University London champions creativity and collaboration and is dedicated to giving its learners the skills and opportunities they need for outstanding careers in digital media and design.
With a community of approximately 2,600 students, we have a strong background in graduate employability and business creation and work in close partnership with employers to foster the mindsets and skillsets that the creative industries need. The university hosts alongside its student community more than a hundred creative technology businesses that utilise its leading-edge technologies and media resources and collaborate with its student body and industry partners.
We are looking to appoint six new governors (including a chair of the audit committee) to replace long serving governors who have supported us through a time of significant development, which included gaining university status and degree awarding powers, as it continues to position itself as an institution designed for industry and inspired by a desire to innovate and change the world through creativity.
New governors will bring substantial senior strategic experience in the creative and digital industries, financial and audit experience (for the chair of the audit committee), a high level of personal integrity and ethical standards and a strong commitment to higher education and the values, aims and objectives of the university.
The roles are not remunerated, although reasonable expenses are paid. Time commitment is approximately twelve days a year (including attendance at one of the sub-committees). Governors are appointed for an initial term of three years.
